Stuart loves eating and rolling in the dirt. He’s happy to offer some fancy horse dancing, AKA dressage, and will offer piaffe and his version of the Spanish walk – the Stuart stomp.
19 yr old Mustang gelding.
Spirit will teach you everything you need to know about lunging, long lining, and in hand work. His favorite trick is smiling for a treat.
22 yr quarter horse gelding
Sponge began his education in classical dressage late in life at the age of 19. He’s now lunging, long lining, and working in-hand like a pro as long as you stay focused, clear, and positive. Do not get in an attitude fight with the Sponge! Sponge loves hanging out with people and cleaning up any hay or grain his pasture mates leave behind.
13 yr old Paint/TB mare
A sweet mare who wants to work with you. Sinceree is developing improved strength and balance through lunging, long lining, and in-hand work.
7 yr old Lusitano gelding
Magico is super talented at lunging and in-hand work. His front legs are not strong enough for ridden work, but the work in-hand supports him physically and mentally.
5 yr old Andalusian mare
Willa is a 5 year-old Andalusian who is just beginning her classical dressage training. She has big bunny ears and is always listening in and learning from her other horse friends.
20+ yr old Lusitano mare
The school master of in hand. Due to a conformational weakness of her spine, Tanwen has been retired from ridden work, but she is happy to come out and let people watch and learn how it is done. Tanwen helps us all remember horses are trained already; we must train ourselves to dance with them.
14 yr old Friesian/TB mare
Brave, bold, and beautiful, Diosa loves posing on the pedestal and being groomed. She is clever and happy to learn, but insists on a collaborative approach allowing her to try things her way.
19 yr old Tennessee Walking Horse gelding
Blue came to Wonder Horse Ranch in May of 2023 looking for a second chance. Like SpongeBob, Blue failed to thrive at a large equine assisted services program. Since his arrival, Blue has failed to fail.
Blue’s enjoys spending time with veterans. He stands calmly to be groomed and is very expressive when they scratch an itchy spot. Blue is building up his strength and balance through in hand work and lots of pasture walks. This calm, courageous horse can’t wait to hit the trails again!
