Learn how to introduce lateral work to equine partners from the ground.
Participants will develop coordination, rhythm, and feel while learning exercises that support the balance and strength of their equine partner.
Class size limited to six participants.
Participants must complete intro to classical horse training and have instructor approval to attend this class.
Participants will continue to develop lunging, long lining, and in-hand skills as well as develop their skills in mentoring others in this work.
Lateral work and figures may be introduced in the long lines. In-hand work may progress to adding trot steps in shoulder in and shoulder out.
Participants may assist in introducing half steps and piaffe to equine partners. Possibility to ride assisted lateral work at the walk based on rider fitness and appropriate equine partner.

Participants will learn about the 4,000+ year history of the classical system of training and partner with equines for lunging, long lining and the start of in-hand work.
Participants will learn how to lunge and strengthen their equine partner physically and mentally through transitions with and without side reins and stretching.
Long lining will be used to continue developing the muscles of the top line and enhance participants understanding of contact and feel with the rein aids.
In-hand work will include learning shoulder out and shoulder in on straight lines and introducing these movements on a circle at the walk.
